Description

comfortably ensconced on the armchair covered in blue and white plaid cloth, one tiny paw delicately resting on its whiskered face in a gesture that is so irresistibly cute that it immediately triggers an emotional reaction in everyone who sees it. Those eyes of the kitten are truly gigantic and blue as turquoise and are even bigger due to those round glasses that the little thing is wearing, and they serve as the emotional focal point of the composition, created in such a masterful way that the kitten seems truly alive and truly needy of an immediate adoption. The background environment is depicted with great skill in the form of an absolutely exquisite scene of domesticity — warm amber glow of the lamp in the top-left corner, a window decorated with curtains which allow a little bit of sunlight in, and a lovely bouquet of red tulips and white daisies in a terracotta pot which adds botanical freshness to the entire picture. The color combination is absolutely amazing in terms of its extraordinary harmony — the warm hues of honey and amber from the kitten’s fur, the soft hues of blue-gray from the plaid cushion, the amber hue of the lamp, and finally the bright red color of the tulips combine together to make a composition which feels cozy and fresh at the same time. The artistic style can be defined as accomplished contemporary cartoon illustration of painterly and textural quality which makes it look like traditional artwork — like a work of art in the best traditions of the Russian school of children’s book illustration. This poster’s image illustrates the amazing room integration by means of perfect visual integration — mounted in a white frame on a dusty blue wall above a white bed, with blue striped bedding, mustard pillow and a white teddy bear, the poster is such an integral part of the room design because of its visual integration with all of those elements that it looks like it was specially made for this very room. The blue glasses of the kitten reflect the blue colors in the walls, bedding and striped carpet; its warm amber color is in harmony with the mustard pillow and peach lamp — the colors in relation which are of such high harmony that the poster is not only decorative item but a chromatic code that opens the whole room design. The poster is great for kids ages around 3 to 12 years who love cats, books, coziness and charming animals of the best children books — as well as cat lovers who appreciate the quality and depth of illustrations. From the standpoint of interior design, it should be placed in the kid’s bedroom, preferably in blue, white and warm neutral colors – but the poster will look perfect in a reading corner, in the kids’ library corner, in the playroom, in pediatrician’s office, or any place where it is necessary to create the atmosphere of warmth, intellect and charm of a special cat wearing glasses, which knows a lot about everything in general. Warm, technically skillful, emotionally sincere and full of complete personality – curious, intelligent, tender, and permanently lovable – this reading kitten poster is the kind of art that a child has grown up next to and become a part of the kid’s childhood visual memory. One day the kid will look back at it with warm feelings – the highest compliment that can ever be given to wall art.
